Put simply, yes. Software developers make updates for good reason, and therefore it is always a good idea to keep your software up to date. For example, updates keep your computer or other device up to date with the latest security fixes, and therefore keeps your device safe from outside threats. Hackers and scammers are constantly trying to find ways to get into your personal life, and while many people are able to stay away from them, it becomes much easier to stay safe when your computer knows about and already expects them.
On another note, keeping your software updated keeps you updated. For example, those that are still running iOS 4 on their iPhone and iPads are missing out on countless new features that are free by updating to IOS 5. Sometimes one must be wary about updating, however generally speaking all released software has been endlessly tested and improved on and is ready for your computer to use it.
All in all, updating is an important thing to do to your devices, and is important in keeping your computer running smoothly and efficiently.

Great job Kevin, this blog was really informative. I have heard of all kinds of weirdoes trying to hack into people’s personal accounts, but I have luckily never had to deal with one myself.

I haven’t read this blog in a while, but I found this topic interesting. I can relate to this because my computer has to do “updates” all the time. It’s good to know that these are all for good reason though.

I agree with the previous post. I am always annoyed when I turn on the computer and need to wait for numerous updates.
Your posts are well-written and interesting. Great comic.
